Error: <program name> caused an exception ... due to Windows 3.1 program.
Error:
<program name> caused an exception <number> in module KERNEL32.DLL at <address>.
Cause:
A Windows 3.1x driver or program which conflicts with the application is being loaded.
Solution:
Remove any programs in the 'Load' or 'Run' sections of Win.ini.
1) Click the 'Start' button to display the 'Start' menu.
2) Select 'Programs'.
Select 'Programs'
3) Select 'Accessories'.
4) Select 'WordPad'. (The 'WordPad' window opens.)

5) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Open...'. (The 'Open' dialog box appears.)
6) Select the letter representing the hard drive from the 'Look in' drop-down list box that Windows 95 is installed on..
7) Double-click 'Windows' in the list box.
8) Type 'Win.ini' in the list box, and click 'Open'.
9) Locate the [Windows] section.
10) Locate the Load= and the Run= lines.
11) Type a semi-colon (;) in front of the Load= and Run= lines.
12) Select the 'File' menu and select 'Save' to save Win.ini.
13) Shut down the computer and reboot to Windows.
14) Reopen the application causing the error.
